From bringing NASCAR to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for the Busch Lite Clash beginning in 2022 to a first-ever street race in Chicago in 2023, NASCAR’s Ben Kennedy has proved his intention to think “out of the box.”

The latest big idea that involved Kennedy, NASCAR’s Executive Vice President, Chief Venue and Racing Innovation Officer, was to bring Major League Baseball to one of stock car racing’s most iconic venues.

He found a willing partner in Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred, who has taken America’s National Pastime from the cornfields of Iowa with the “Field of Dreams” Game to international venues.

Together with their key management, they helped create Major League Baseball’s “Speedway Classic” 2025 – a Cincinnati Reds home game against the Atlanta Braves scheduled for August 2, 2025 at 7 p.m. Eastern Time on FOX.

“It’s going to be incredibly cool to see Major League Baseball, the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds descend upon Bristol Motor Speedway, one of NASCAR’s most iconic venues, for what will surely be an extraordinary game and experience in 2025,” Kennedy said Friday. “The Braves and Reds are two storied franchises, and both reside in markets filled with passionate NASCAR fans.

“Already the site for so many amazing NASCAR moments, Bristol Motor Speedway is the perfect backdrop for this exciting milestone event.”

It will be the first time a regular season American League or National League baseball game has been played in the state of Tennessee.
