Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes “joins club’s top earners” just days before Premier League opening after “signing his new Man United contract until 2027.”

Apparently, Bruno Fernandes has signed a new contract with Manchester United.

The 30-year-old Fernandes signed a new agreement with United in January 2020, and he still has two years to go on his last one, which he signed in 2022 and was for £240,000 per week.

His most recent deal at Old Trafford, however, includes a salary increase that will bring him in line with the club’s highest earners, such as Marcus Rashford and Casemiro.According to Fabrizio Romano, the new deal that the Red Devils captain signed would keep him in his position until 2027. The pact is three years long and includes an option for a fourth year if necessary.

The new deal also ends rumors that Fernandes may have departed the club this summer due to unpredictability around his future and rumors of conversations with other parties. In May, Fernandes warned United’s upper management that he would weigh his choices following Euro 2024 in light of interest from Bayern Munich and Saudi Arabia.

The burden isn’t solely on my shoulders, is it? “Fernandes said” during that period. “A player must always desire to be here, but you must also desire that he remain.”

Miguel Pinho, who represents Fernandes, allegedly met with Bayern Munich executives in the summer to discuss a possible transfer, according to the Portuguese outlet O Jogo.

Having said that, the 29-year-old has already expressed his intention to stay at Old Trafford in an article for The Player’s Tribune.

He expressed his deepest desire to play at Old Trafford in a written statement. I would prefer to remain here. I have always considered this to be my lifelong goal. All I want is for my expectations to align with the club’s. This is something that any fan you ask will tell you. Our goal is to be in the league playoffs. Our goal is to be competing in the Champions League. Reaching the cup finals is our goal. That qualifies as the norm. I would prefer that. That is the just reward for all of you.

To keep battling is all I desire. To be here is my desire. Being here is important to my family. In almost 220 games throughout his 4.5 years at Old Trafford, he has tallied 73 goals and 65 assists.

After a dismal eighth-place finish last season—thanks to an FA Cup success, Fernandes’ season ended on a high note—the Red Devils will be looking to get off to a good start this season when they play Fulham on Friday night.
