Reportedly, the 24-year-old’s return to Stamford Bridge has been agreed upon by Chelsea and Atletico for a sum of £40 million ($51 million).
Felix scored four goals in twenty appearances during his disastrous six-month loan stint at Stamford Bridge during the second half of the 2022–23 season.
Chelsea reportedly offered the 24-year-old Portugal international a six-year deal after he spent last season on loan with Barcelona.
After Gallagher’s trade to Atletico Madrid fell through last week due to Chelsea’s inability to secure a deal for Madrid striker Samu Omorodion, Felix’s arrival could pave the way for Gallagher to finally complete his move.
Gallagher, who was photographed in Spain last week in preparation for his planned £33 million transfer, has trained alone since returning to Chelsea. In order to fund the deal, Atletico have to sell Omorodion or another player.
It has been claimed that Napoli has made an offer for Romelu Lukaku, a striker from Belgium, to Chelsea. Chelsea lost their Premier League opener 2-0 against Manchester City on Sunday.
Lukaku, who has played for Everton and Manchester United in the past, was on loan to Roma last season. He is 31 years old.
At the same time, new Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has stated his intention to resolve Raheem Sterling’s issue in the next few days, casting doubt on the winger’s future at the club.
Representatives for Sterling issued a statement challenging the decision that left him out of the Blues’ lineup to face City.
