An ex-Chelsea player was admonished by Nicolas Jackson to “shut your mouth” after scoring against Wolves.
In last weekend’s loss to Manchester City, the ex-Blues player slammed Jackson for his performance.
On that occasion, Jackson missed the target, but he scored Chelsea’s second goal in the opening minute of their 6-2 victory over Wolves.Wolves’ Matheus Cunha scored an equalizer, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer put them back in the lead, and Jorgen Strand Larsen tied the game at two goals apiece in a dramatic match at Molineux.
Chelsea won thanks to a triple trick from Noni Madueke in the second half and a late goal from Joao Felix. Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel was critical of Jackson’s goaltending performance versus City.
Interim Chelsea player Mikel stated on beIN Sports: “We’ve played OK, we haven’t played perfect, but we’ve played OK.”We missed opportunities that were presented to us. And this is only one example of how Jackson wraps things up.
You can see that he managed to dribble by at least one guy and shoot the ball with such precision, despite being offside.
We don’t have a striker with the ability to put the ball in the back of the net,’ Mikel said.
It may come out as disrespectful at times how much I mention him. I mean no disrespect to him.
In my opinion, Chelsea Football Club is in desperate need of a top-tier striker.
‘Absolutely incredible,’ she said, comparing it to Haland’s 91 goals for City. Jackson retaliated against Mikel by writing, “@Mikel_john_obi shut your mouth” on Instagram.
Since joining Chelsea from Villarreal last year, Jackson has been the target of much criticism from analysts due to his erratic performances.
Over the subsequent time frame, Jackson has been instrumental for the Blues, scoring 17 goals in 45 games.
Jackson may find himself farther down the ladder at Stamford Bridge if rumors circulate that Chelsea could acquire a striker before to the transfer deadline.
Still, Jackson is crossing his fingers that his performance against Wolves will win over Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.
