A sensational transfer involving Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho is reportedly being discussed between Chelsea and Manchester United.

After a rift with manager Erik ten Hag, Jadon Sancho returned to Old Trafford this summer, and United are eager to sell him.

 

Even though new manager Enzo Maresca does not want Sterling, Chelsea is eager to sell him and the rest of the “bomb squad” that trains with them.During discussions on Tuesday, United’s sporting director Dan Ashworth reportedly broached the topic of a potential swap deal.

However, in order for the two England wingers to switch clubs before Friday’s transfer deadline, a lot of hurdles would have to be surmounted.

One of the most significant amounts owed to Sterling is £70 million, which covers his salaries and bonuses for the last three years of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United would be hesitant to assist Chelsea in settling their debt with Sterling since they are eager to pay off Sancho’s £250,000 weekly contract.According to our sources, any agreement would have to be negotiated on United’s terms, and exchanging players is still not a plausible option.

However, it does highlight the dire situation in which both teams find themselves with the transfer market down to its final three days.

United have agreed to pay PSG up to £50.4 million for Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte this summer, bringing their total spending to £200 million. They have been in talks with Juventus over Sancho and would prefer a straight cash deal with the Italians.

Despite Chelsea’s interest, Sancho may rather return to London than move to Turin.

United and Chelsea are in talks over Sancho, which has prompted speculation about a possible swap including Sterling. Sterling is reportedly keen on returning to the north-west, where he played for Manchester City for seven years and still has friends there.

Ten Hag has a plethora of wide players at his disposal, including Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Amad Diallo, and Mason Mount, but United greatly values Sterling.

Along with Scott McTominay, two other players are about to depart Old Trafford.Chelsea are considering a move for Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford, but the Blues will wait to see how the deal’s finances pan out before making a decision.

Al Ahli of the Saudi Pro League has extended an offer to Toney, who is in the last year of his contract and has the option to depart this summer.

However, Chelsea, who are in the market for a new striker and with a transfer deadline approaching on Friday, have taken notice of the England star.

Whether Chelsea increase their interest this week will be determined by the cost of the deal.

Due to their strict wage structure, Chelsea will not be able to compete with Toney’s potential weekly earnings of £400,000 in Saudi Arabia.

The Stamford Bridge club would need to be satisfied with Brentford’s asking price in order to reignite their interest in the club.
