With more shots and possession going to the home team, and with Palace’s goalkeeper Dean Henderson making a heroic save, the Blues would have been celebrating another three points on a different day.The away fans went ballistic, and Maresca’s team only managed a draw thanks to a magnificent curled effort from Eberechi Eze, Crystal Palace’s standout player and a former Queens Park Rangers star. The goal beat Blues goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

From Chelsea’s point of view, too, not everything was bad news; Cole Palmer, a former Manchester City player, was instrumental for the Blues in their frustrating tie.

The match between Cole Palmer and PalacePalmer keeps proving his significance to what appears to be a fractured Chelsea collective, and he was presented with the PFA Young Player of the Year award before the early afternoon affair had started.
