Things have finally started to look sunnier for Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman’s family. Freddie’s wife Chelsea shared a positive update on their 3-year old Max.
Chelsea Freeman had announced Max’s diagnosis of a rare neurogical disorder, Guillain-Barré syndrome in early August. Max was admitted to the pediatric ICU after reportedly incurring “full body paralysis.”
However, things have seemingly started to go in the right direction for Max as he was present at the Dodger Stadium on Saturday for the first time since being diagnosed with the rare disease.
Chelsea Freeman treated the medical staff of Children’s Hospital of Orange County to the game in a show of appreciation for their efforts during Max’s time at the hospital.

Freddie Freeman reflects on his son’s recovery
Freddie Freeman missed the Dodgers games in the last week of July after he was placed on the family emergency list by the team in the wake of his son’s medical emergency post the All-Star break.
The eight-time All-Star received a heart-warming welcome when he returned to the team in August for the series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
“Seeing one of your kids on a ventilator fighting, it was hard,” Freeman said on his return last month. “I know you parents understand that. You’d switch in a second to take that pain, that suffering away from your kid in a heartbeat. When you feel hopeless, like Chelsea and I did, that’s hard.”
Thankfully all is well for the Freeman family off the field. Meanwhile, Freddie’s two-game hitting streak ended during his team’s series-clinching shoutout win on Sunday against the Guardians. The former MVP has seven hits in his last six games and will hope to contribute to his team’s offense in the upcoming three-game series against the Chicago Cubs, starting Monday.
