Off the field, Kai Havertz leads a morally upright life. He spends time with his adorable Golden Retriever and, strangely enough, a donkey!

It’s clear that Havertz loves animals and the natural world. The German celebrity spends a lot of his leisure time snuggling up to his pets, even if many may be surprised to learn that he owns a donkey.

Havertz’s dog, Baloo, appears to be the subject of all of his posts. The celebrity, who adores animals, revealed that he got the dog when he moved to England.

Havertz said to ChelseaTV’s Extra Time, “We decided when we came here we need a garden and we need a dog.”

For a while, it was evident, but I used to live in a flat in Germany without a garden and with insufficient room for a dog.

“We looked for the right one after spending a month or two here. We went to a few. The breeders that merely desired to profit from the dogs were not to our liking. After searching for the ideal candidate, we have now had him for six or seven months. Baloo is his name. We couldn’t be happier with him.”

The 22-year-old German athlete appears to be extremely modest and values the simpler things in life, in contrast to other players who post pictures of their lavish lifestyles on social media.

Havertz has joined the campaign to donate money in order to help his village’s afflicted residents, as a result of the recent catastrophic flooding that struck Aachen, his birthplace, as well as other areas of Germany and Belgium.

The extraordinary child has maturity much beyond his years, as seen by his donation of his personalized boots and $200,000 to Red Cross Germany, which will help rebuild many families’ houses and cause harm to many more in his hometown.
