In response to Jadon Sancho during practice, Enzo Maresca identifies Chelsea’s most potent winger
Although Sancho’s rather surprising loan move from Manchester United to Stamford Bridge was completed before of the transfer deadline, he has not yet made his Blues debut.
During the international break, he sought to make an impression on his new manager Maresca, and it appears that he succeeded, as the Italian spoke well of the England international.
“He has exceeded my expectations,” Maresca said to club media. He is an excellent one-on-one player with great finishing ability. I have no doubt that he will assist us.
The 24-year-old is hoping to feature for Chelsea for the first time on Saturday against Bournemouth, although Maresca will have plenty of competition for playing time.
Behind striker Nicolas Jackson, players like Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, Christopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Kiernan Dewbury-Hall are vying for spots in the forward line.
Maresca has called attention to Madueke, stating that the new England international is the greatest at forcing defenders to give up ground to his wingers.”During the game, our wingers typically have ten one-on-one opportunities,” the Blues manager stated. Being able to play forward and go one-on-one is a dream come true for every winger. We let them go one-on-one at various points during the game.
Noni has proven to be the most effective for us thus far. He had distinct ambitions and created different opportunities in the preseason. Whenever he has the ball, he can play one-on-one. All of our wingers are functioning well, but Noni is doing very well.
Madueke has had an incredible start to the season, having made his Premier League debut against Wolves and scored a hat-trick against Finland on Tuesday night.
“Joining their international team is a huge accomplishment for all the players, but especially for Noni,” Maresca remarked.
We are overjoyed for him. He’s doing fairly well. All he needs to do is keep continuing; if he doesn’t, it won’t be beneficial to him and he will lose all the progress he has made thus far. He needs to keep working hard and in the right manner.
On Saturday, the Blues play their away game against Bournemouth at 8 p.m.
