Lowe hits a crucial go-ahead run during a three-run eighth inning, leading the Texas Rangers to a comeback victory over the Seattle Mariners, 5-4, in Rocker’s debut Major League game

Nathaniel Lowe provided a key boost for the Rangers with an infield single that gave them the lead during a three-run eighth inning, and he also hit a home run in the seventh.

His contributions were crucial in helping Texas overcome a three-run deficit to secure a 5-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Thursday night, in a game that marked Kumar Rocker’s Major League debut.

Lowe’s seventh-inning homer brought the Rangers closer, making it a 4-2 game. In the eighth inning, Marcus Semien hit a solo homer off Collin Snider (3-3), narrowing the deficit further. Josh Smith reached base on an error, followed by a double from Wyatt Langford, setting the stage for Adolis García’s groundout to shortstop that scored Smith and tied the game at 4-4.

Lowe then singled to second base, allowing Langford to score the decisive run.

In his Major League debut, Rocker struck out seven batters and allowed just one run on three hits over four innings. The only run he surrendered was a solo homer by Justin Turner in the fourth inning.

Rocker started the game by allowing back-to-back singles but then retired the next six batters. Despite walking two batters in the third inning, he kept the Mariners from scoring until Turner’s home run.

“I was trying to find my rhythm throughout the game,” Rocker said. “It’s part of the experience, and you just have to learn from it.”

Rocker threw 74 pitches and got 17 swings and misses from Mariners batters, thanks to his effective slider.

“Great job, great job,” Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said. “He showed poise and presence out there. Despite a rough start, he kept his composure, worked through a tough situation, and delivered four solid innings.”
