Manchester United’s lead is doubled just before halftime by Marcus Rashford.
If Southampton wants to score for the first time this season, they’ll have a tougher time doing it in the second half. United have a commanding 2-0 lead after 45 minutes, and the Saints will likely suffer their fourth straight defeat.
The game-winning goal came from a magnificent header by Matthijs de Ligt following a missed penalty by Southampton.
United extended their lead to 2-0 through Marcus Rashford, who, for the time being, can only hope that his goal will put his detractors to rest.
With a yard of space provided, Rashford placed the ball into the bottom right corner.
