Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Will Smith continues his attempt to break out of his slump in the second half of the season. The All-Star catcher’s solo home run against the Miami Marlins in a 8-4 win was appreciated by his wife Cara Smith on Wednesday.

The two-time All-Star catcher went .165 at the plate post the All-Star break, documenting his struggles. However, he has shown signs of life over the last two weeks, and his solo home run at LoanDepot Park will be a big boost to his confidence.

Smith got hold of Marlins starter Ryan Weathers’ fastball and dispatched it over the left field wall to give the Dodgers the lead in the second inning. It was his 19th home run of the season, equalling his tally from last season.
