After moving in the summer, a Chelsea player informs fans, “I am not at my level.”

Last month, the Portugal attacker signed a seven-year contract with the Blues after completing a £54 million move to Stamford Bridge.

During his five inconsistent years at Wolves, Neto rose to prominence as one of the team’s key players but also frequently battled injuries.

The 24-year-old, who believes he still has a lot more to give, made his debut for his new club on Tuesday by crushing League Two team Barrow in the Carabao Cup.

Due to injuries, Neto missed almost two months of the 2023–24 campaign. He is currently trying to get back to his best after moving to Chelsea in the summer.

“I’m not at my level right now, but I’m getting there,” he said to the Evening Standard. I’m confident that I’ll reach my peak performance and have fun doing it.

“I keep working,” I’m still working on developing my self-assurance, my football skills, and my adaptability with the goal of being [fully fit] as soon as possible.Since joining Chelsea, Neto has had difficulty getting off to a good start, and head coach Enzo Maresca has acknowledged that he is among three players that “deserve” greater playing time.

Former Sky Sports host Jeff Stelling recently questioned whether Neto would be “regretting” his move to Stamford Bridge given his diminished position in the team thus far.

“I brought up Pedro Neto before,” he stated on talkSPORT. I’m just curious whether he is feeling any regret about his decision to transfer to Chelsea given that he isn’t able to start there.

“You do want to see him on the football field because he hasn’t played much football and has had so many injuries over the years.”

Although Neto acknowledges it will be difficult for him to get starts at Chelsea, he believes the increased competition will only help him become a better player.

“A large club is a new adaptation when you walk in,” he remarked. “I was probably going to play 90 percent of the games in Wolverhampton.”I have to put in even more effort here, or otherwise the coach will rotate the guys, and I might not play. Knowing that you need to put in work improves your performance even more.

Nobody is able to sleep with the quality we have here. Everyone won’t play in every game, as the coach has stated.

“We must put in a lot of effort, provide for ourselves, and keep doing so every weekend, every practice, and every game.” I’m hoping that this mindset will help us succeed.

This weekend, Chelsea, who have played five games so far in the Premier League, will host Brighton.
