Manchester United is reportedly considering Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi as a possible Erik ten Hag replacement.
Ten Hag’s future at United is becoming less clear in light of Sunday’s 3-0 home loss to Tottenham, which attracted criticism from players like Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand.
There are hints that Sir Jim Ratcliffe will evaluate the issue during the international break later this month, even though the Dutchman is still in command for the time being.Inzaghi, who has led Inter since 2021, is one of the candidates United may consider if Ten Hag is fired, according to reports from The Daily Star.
Inzaghi led Inter to the Serie A championship the previous season. He has also won two Coppa Italias. In 2023, his team advanced to the Champions League final, where they were defeated by Manchester City. He won the Coppa Italia with Lazio during his tenure as manager there in 2018–19.
According to the article, Gareth Southgate, the former England manager, is still another possibility for United.Since leaving his position as England’s manager after the team lost to Spain in the 2024 Euro final, Southgate has not been involved in management.
Following United’s FA Cup victory, Ten Hag signed a contract extension in the summer.
United, on the other hand, has not improved their consistency and now sits in 13th place in the Premier League after only picking up seven points from their opening six games.
After ten Hag’s contract extension, Goal claims that it would cost United £17.5 million to find a new manager.
Although Ten Hag has maintained that he is not concerned about his future, both supporters and pundits have harshly criticized him.
