Wayne Rooney asserts that Erik ten Hag, the new coach at Manchester United, is “a fantastic manager” and that his players “need to do better.”
Before leaving United in 2017, Rooney, who set a club record with 253 goals in 559 appearances, said that it was difficult to watch them linger in the bottom half of the standings.
After just two victories from seven Premier League games this season, Ten Hag is under intense pressure once more, and Rooney is hoping the Dutchman can swiftly turn the team’s fortunes around.Rooney responded to a question on Sky Sports about Ten Hag’s suitability for the position by saying, “Well, that’s obviously down to the football club’s owners to look at that.” Erik Ten Hag is undoubtedly an excellent manager.
“He has won championships everywhere he has gone, including Manchester United.”Indeed, he is going through a trying time, and I believe he would say as much.
However, you have to hope that he can make a difference because all too frequently, managers are fired and then there is a rebuild under a new management.
After placing ninth in the premier league the previous season, United had only won three of their ten games across all competitions, and Rooney questioned the players’ efforts.
“It’s challenging, and anyone would agree that Manchester United wants to contend for championships, so everyone at the club knows they need to improve on that,” the manager of Plymouth stated.
“I am aware that Erik Ten Hag is making every effort to enhance that.” Once more, like I mentioned throughout the previous season, players must perform better than they are.
