After just nine caps, the 22-year-old wins England Men’s Player of the Year

It is not surprise that Palmer’s performance at the international level led to his recognition; in November of last year, he made his England debut against Malta.

With seven further substitute appearances, the 22-year-old has only made two starts for the Three Lions, but in those nine games, he has undoubtedly made a tremendous impression, scoring his first England goal in a friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina and his second in the Euro 2024 final against Spain.

Amazingly, in England’s seven games at the European Championship this summer, he didn’t start a single one.In a stellar 2024, he was named England Men’s Player of the Year and went on to win Player of the Season, PFA Young Player of the Year, Chelsea Player, and Premier League Young Player of the Season.

England supporters voted for Jude Bellingham, the Real Madrid player, to come in second place, and Arsenal legend Bukayo Saka to come in third.

Saka had won in 2022 and 2023, with Kalvin Phillips emerging as the unexpected victor in 2021. It hasn’t been won by Harry Kane since 2018.

“The award is further recognition of the 22-year-old’s influential and decisive performances for club and country since the start of last season,” Chelsea noted in a congratulations message.
