Cole Palmer, a star of Chelsea, made his big-screen debut after acting in an odd nine-minute silent short for Burberry.
Palmer was chosen for the company’s newest advertising campaign, which was inspired by their tagline, “It’s Always Burberry Weather,” together with teammate and Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze from England.
The two footballers join a cast consisting of the likes of Barry Keoghan, Cara Delevingne and Olivia Colman to shoot the campaign in the British countryside. More precisely, Palmer was chosen to pose for their £2,490 ‘Wool Cashmere Duffle Coat’ in a film called ‘The Duffle with Cole Palmer’.
Palmer can be seen wearing the duffle coat in the nine-minute video, sitting next to a lake with some fishing gear and gazing out over the water.
Palmer stays still in his seat the entire time, only occasionally taking up some fishing gear to play about with.
Palace actor Eze is also fishing in a weird video. But in a more thrilling sequence, the midfield player seems to snag something on his line.
However, the 26-year-old only succeeded in catching a diver, who only waves before plunging back in.
Despite Palmer’s lack of prior fashion industry knowledge, one of his most recent match-worn shirts sold for far more than Burberry’s duffle coat.
The 22-year-old scored four goals in the first half of the 4-2 victory against Brighton at Stamford Bridge, setting a record for the most goals ever scored by a player in the Premier League.
