With goals from Mykhailo Mudryk and Nicolas Jackson in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying, Ukraine earned its first Nations League victory.

When they met in the UEFA Nations League first round, Ukraine and Georgia couldn’t have been more different. While Georgia had won their last two games, Ukraine had lost their last two and were looking for their first point of the season.

The first opportunity for Ukraine came from Mudryk, but Maksym Talovierov headed over his set-piece. Nevertheless, just before halftime, the winger for Chelsea scored the game’s sole goal. Following a high-positional Ukraine possession, he cut in from wide and beat the goalkeeper near his post.
