Loading the new Marcus Rashford? During the international break, the Manchester United player puts in extra practice to improve his penalty technique and make spectacular free kicks

Right from the beginning of the 2023–24 season, Rashford has struggled mightily to establish himself. The England international has struggled to make the same impression as he did before under Erik ten Hag after being sent out wide onto the wings. Because of this, Rashford has also seen his status in the England national team decline. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old is working hard in the training area even when club football is suspended due to international matches.

Rashford’s poor play in recent months has drawn harsh criticism from supporters and commentators. The England international has been informed repeatedly that his concentration on the game is waining, and most recently, Andy Cole expressed the opinion that football is not Rashford’s “top priority.”

The quick player will be back in action on Saturday, October 19, when Manchester United hosts Brentford at Old Trafford. It remains to be known, though, if he will start the game.

“Unmatched quality” is how Roy Keane describes Angel Gomes in the midst of Man United transfer rumors.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright and Manchester United star Roy Keane have gushed about Angel Gomes’ flash of genius during England’s Nations League match against Finland.

After an incredible pass from the former United midfielder put Jack Grealish through to give his side the lead, the Three Lions went into halftime ahead by a goal. The 24-year-old, making just his third appearance for the senior team, had a tremendous first half of play, which was topped off with the assist.

Keane praised Gomes’ skill to ITV Sport during the halftime analysis of the goal, saying, “A real bit of quality.” A fantastic goal; you would be applauding France or Spain if you saw them score one like this.”Gomes is kind and patient, doing what you do and passing it on, and he just appears to float in. Jack attracts attention from a few players, which undoubtedly benefits him once he enters.

“But Trent [Alexander-Arnold], this pass again, beautiful and easy. Sharp, these last few details by Gomes, and these couple of touches overall… really? Pure quality.

“Lovely and obviously Jack finishes it off but a really lovely bit of quality.” Wright concurred with his colleague analyst, saying, “It’s really good to see, in that area, because he is not just a ball progressor.”

“He can do this if he enters the area designated for number 10. Simply amazing.

“I believe that one of the things I noticed that stood out was how high up he and Declan [Rice] were—possibly holding players, but they also had cover. They made a really good offensive play in this situation.”

Right now, United’s midfield is a continual source of issues, with criticism directed at Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte respectively for their holding midfield roles. Gomes’s Lille contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, and some Reds supporters are hoping that the team will try to sign him as a free agent when he becomes available.
