On Sunday afternoon, we head to Liverpool, the league leaders, ahead of our matches against Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle United before the next international break. Enzo Maresca and his team will be put to the test after a very encouraging start to the campaign. The players warmed up inside the gym for a little while before moving outside to practice with the ball under the direction of the head coach today.

Following the customary rondos, there were drills centered on passing and shooting, as well as constructing out from the back, an area in which Chelsea has shown promise this season.

The goalkeeping unit was strengthened with the addition of some young Academy keepers while Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen were away with their national teams. Marcus Bettinelli, coaches Hilario and Michele De Bernardin, and the group all enjoyed some roundnet, or spikeball, to test their reflexes and movement.

Reece James was involved again as he continues his journey back to full health. Yesterday was James’ first return to squad training since the preseason.

Several players will be back in the group when the players get together again because most of the international action ends on Tuesday.
