Governor Greg Abbott proudly displays his Texas Rangers World Series ring at an event in Fort Worth

Governor Greg Abbott visited Fort Worth on Tuesday to discuss the impact of tourism on the Texas economy, proudly showcasing a diamond-encrusted reminder of why so many tourists have been drawn to the Lone Star State in recent years.

He received his Texas Rangers 2023 World Series ring shortly before participating in a fireside chat at the American Airlines headquarters, moderated by Geoff Freeman, CEO and president of the U.S. Travel Association.

Abbott mentioned that he stopped by the Rangers’ stadium to pick up the ring right after his plane landed.

“This will make its way to the governor’s office in Austin, Texas,” he said, eliciting applause from the audience as he displayed the ring.

The ring features over 450 diamonds, sapphires, and rubies, along with a piece of a World Series baseball.

The design, unveiled to the players on March 29 by jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills, is rich with symbolism, commemorating key elements of the Rangers’ journey to success, from their 11 road victories to their establishment in 1972.
