Freddie Freeman’s wife Chelsea shared positive update on son’s health
Freddie Freeman and his family went through a lot over the last couple of months after their youngest son Max was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease, Guillain-Barré syndrome, in August.
Max spent almost a week in a pediatric ICU and continued his recovery at home. The youngest of three suffered a paralysis attack that restricted his ability to move or walk.
Chelsea Freeman shared a positive update earlier this week, confirming that Max has started to walk and showing faster recovery than previously anticipated by the doctor. She wrote on IG:
“Max’s neurologist is VERY VERY VERY happy with how he is progressing. Today was the first time Dr. Crawford got to see Max walk. We are still waiting for his reflexes to come back, but that usually takes the longest. A few weeks ago, we were talking about getting Max fitted for leg braces.”But he is doing so great that we might be able to bypass them. With the help of lots and lots of PT, Max is getting closer and closer to being his normal rambunctious self. Again, thank you all so much for the prayers and well wishes for our family.”Freddie Freeman has been nursing an ankle issue and was a double for the NLDS. However, the All-Star first baseman featured for the team after missing Game 2. He will be part of the starting lineup for Game 1 of the ALCS on Sunday.
