The Los Angeles Dodgers’ postgame celebrations after clinching their 2024 World Series berth had superstar Shohei Ohtani showcase his improved English skills since joining the team during the 2023 offseason. After a thrilling 10-5 win over the New York Mets in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series, Ohtani was caught on camera seemingly addressing a teammate, saying:

“Hey! You’re sober.”

The moment quickly went viral on social media, prompting several reactions from fans:

Shohei Ohtani’s presence has been a big part of the Dodgers’ success since he joined the club. Despite being unable to shine on the mound during 2024, the two-way superstar showcased his power-hitting and speed during the regular season after becoming the first player to join the 50/50 club with at least 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season.

Alongside newly acquired teammate Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Ohtani has helped fuel a massive fanbase back home in Japan, further adding to his international appeal and status.
