On Wednesday night, Manchester United easily defeated Leicester City 5-2 in the Carabao Cup’s fourth round.

The squad advanced to the next round of the competition thanks to two goals each from Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, as well as a goal from Alejandro Garnacho.

Leicester’s share of the ball was 43%, whereas United’s was 57%. Nine of the 23 shots that Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team attempted were on goal. In contrast, the Foxes had 16 attempts at goal, seven of which were on target.

The Red Devils completed 557 passes with an 87% completion percentage.

Leicester made 427 passes, achieving an 84% pass accuracy rate.

Manuel Ugarte was one of the team’s best players. The South American hasn’t had the finest start to his life since joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, but tonight he proved to the supporters why United spent so much money to hire him.

With 75 touches of the ball under his belt, Ugarte managed an individual completion rate of 90% and found his teammates on 52 of his 58 passes.

Twice he found his goal after attempting to connect with three long balls.

The Uruguayan participated in six ground fights and won four of them. He competed in two aerial challenges and won both.

Ugarte made twice as many interceptions and one clearance. He earned four tackles as well.

Alongside Casemiro, the 23-year-old looked fantastic in the middle of the park. Hopefully, he will now start to play well and establish himself at Old Trafford.

On Sunday, United will play their first Premier League match against Chelsea, led by Enzo Maresca.
