After a falling out with former Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag last season, Sancho joined Chelsea on loan with a summer purchase obligation from Manchester United. Sancho had a strong debut for the Blues, scoring in each of his first three games. The Englishman hasn’t played since October 20 owing to a mix of illness and being unable to play against parent club Manchester United, though, as his form has since declined.
According to The Standard, Sancho has resumed training with Chelsea this week as Maresca’s team gets ready for their Premier League matchup against Leicester City while they wait for the players who left for their designated international assignments to return.
Maresca has guided Chelsea to a successful start in the 2024–25 campaign; they are now tied with fourth-place Arsenal and four points behind second-place Manchester City in the Premier League rankings. However, key player Cole Palmer’s absence from England service during the international break is the main injury problem the Italian has been facing.
As he makes his first appearance at the Foxes’ home field since departing in the summer, Maresca will now try to lead Chelsea against his old team, Leicester City. On Saturday, November 23, King Power Stadium will host the match between the two teams.
