In a much-needed roster makeover, Ruben Amorim could let go of five Manchester United players

The decision to “block” the sale of a player was one of Ruben Amorim’s first significant moves as manager of Manchester United, but what about the players he might be able to let go of in the upcoming months?

According to reports, the 39-year-old, who will coach his first United match against Ipswich Town on November 24, is eager to retain onto Harry Amass, a highly regarded academy product.

Football Insider claims that although Amass has been heavily linked to a move to Aston Villa in recent weeks, United sees him as someone who would fit well in with Amorim’s new system.

As Amorim gets ready to put his faith in young players, as he has done at Braga and Sporting in the past, Amass might be included in the team to go to Portman Road if he performs well in training this week.

But what about people who might be at danger of being unloaded? Amorim is ‘unconvinced’ by Joshua Zirkzee after a bad start at Old Trafford, according to a report from The Mirror. The Dutch forward, who paid almost £37 million to join United from Serie A team Bologna in the summer, scored against Fulham in his Premier League debut but hasn’t scored in his last 16 games.

These are four more players that Amorim may consider selling.

AntonyAntony has battled for first-team minutes after leaving Ajax for £82 million in the summer of 2022. He has really spent a large portion of his United career playing second fiddle to Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.

According to a recent Daily Star report, United executives are eager to let go of Antony and would consider loaning him out in January.

The ‘number one choice’ to replace Antony is the highly regarded Sporting winger Geovany Quenda, whom Amorim hopes to sign. This season, the Brazilian has only started one game for United [against Barnsley].
