Robert Sanchez, 27, came off the bench as a substitute last night to win just his third cap for the Spanish national team.
After being beaten at his near post for a soft goal in the Chelsea goal earlier, he then gave up a goal in their 3-2 victory over Switzerland, allowing a soft shot to go in at his near post once more.Every week, incidents like these serve as more evidence that Sanchez isn’t talented enough to be Chelsea’s number one. Although the team has persisted in defending him, they are now at last being connected to new goalkeepers.
Although head coach Enzo Maresca has stated that he is really pleased with Sanchez, I believe that at this point, this is just a matter of diplomacy. It just must be!
Sanchez concedes an easy goal.
Sanchez gave up a goal yesterday night that he should have been saving for Spain, as you can see in the footage that was uploaded on X overnight.
Fortunately, his team beat Switzerland with a late goal, but Sanchez also gave up a penalty kick during play.
The neutrals found the game to be thrilling, but Chelsea supporters will only be left wondering how many more mistakes this player must make before the team fires him or Maresca takes his place as their number one.
