According to Dutch media ‘Looked lost’ and ‘zero confidence’ during a 1-1 tie with Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Manchester United star

The Netherlands drew 1-1 away to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday night, ending their Nations League group stage campaign.

Brian Brobbey’s goal in the 24th minute gave Ronald Koeman’s team the lead, but Ermedin Demirovic’s equalizer for the home team cut them back in the second half.

With only their second point from relegated Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was a lackluster end to the Dutch’s group stage campaign. However, after placing second in their group behind Germany, the Netherlands are officially acknowledged to have advanced to the Nations League quarterfinals.

After Joshua Zirkzee of Manchester United played in the No. 10 position behind Brobbey, the Dutch media closely examined his performance after the game.

After failing to contribute to the game, Zirkzee was replaced in the 77th minute by former Man United loanee Wout Weghorst. With a score of 4.5 out of 10, Football Oranje gave Zirkzee the lowest rating of any Dutch starter versus Bosnia.

The outlet came to the conclusion that Zirkzee could not affect the game, even as a 10. The ball occasionally bounced off him, and he appeared lost. A player who now lacks confidence.

Additionally, AD rated Zirkzee as the poorest starter, giving him a five out of ten.

The publication pointed out that Zirkzee ‘did not finish convincingly’ despite having a first-half opportunity.

De Telegraaf expressed the most sympathy, pointing out that the game had given him an opportunity to excel in his favored position following setbacks at the club level.

De Telegraaf also emphasized Zirkzee’s wasted opportunity, implying that it exposed the forward’s “biggest shortcoming.”

Since that doesn’t really work at Manchester United, Zirkzee should take it as an opportunity to showcase himself. De Telegraaf wrote, “He ended up on the bench after scoring one goal on his debut.”

“You hope it helps that he was permitted to play for the Dutch national team at ten, as that is a position he also wants to play.”He was mostly roving, but he is also really excellent at keeping the ball. His chance just before halftime exposed his worst weakness.

“As a striker or forward, he should have rammed the ball through the net, but he was given permission to take a shot from about 10 meters and then produced a soft effort.”Zirkzee had missed the Netherlands’ last game, which ended in a 4-0 triumph over Hungary on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag, the manager at the time, paid £36.5 million to get the Dutchman from Bologna, but the forward has struggled since joining Man United in July.

After entering as a second-half substitute, the 23-year-old scored the game-winning goal in United’s Premier League opener against Fulham, capping off an incredible start to his career with the team.

He hasn’t started a league game since the crushing 3-0 loss to Tottenham in September, though, and he hasn’t been able to score since.

Since Ruben Amorim began serving as the Red Devils’ head coach during the international break, he will return to Manchester United under a new manager.
