The 18-year-old Dibling has quickly become an integral part of Southampton’s campaign to maintain their Premier League status, despite only making his senior debut a year ago.
Despite just scoring once in the league thus far, the attacking midfielder has been making an impression with every appearance.
On Sunday, in a matchup between the league’s best and worst, Liverpool traveled to St. Mary’s.The Saints gave the Reds a fight for their money and Dibling was instrumental in both of their goals, but in the end, the Reds came out on top, 3-2.
Steph Houghton, a former captain of the Lioness squad, commented on the game on Match of the Day 2, saying that Tyler Dibling was the one who “grabbed the game for them” and lifted them to a higher level.
I believe they have found something truly special. Taking the ball in the center and setting up a shot on Andy Robertson, who has been fantastic for Liverpool for a long time, is a dream come true. That he can lure players in with subtle hints is amazing. Robertson and Jones were swept aside by his skip. To get the ball back, he’s hopping past several of his own teammates.
It was impressive enough for him to accomplish it against Liverpool, but he’s been impressive all season. There’s little doubt that he will excel in the years to come.
Danny Murphy, a former midfielder for Liverpool, agreed and said, “He’s a superstar, honestly.”
