The Texas Rangers have finalized their 2025 coaching staff.
On Tuesday, the club announced the new coaching lineup under manager Bruce Bochy, who is entering his third season with the team.
The staff sees the addition of three new faces: Luis Urueta as bench coach, Dave Bush as assistant pitching coach, and Jordan Tiegs as bullpen coach. Additionally, Justin Viele, who was appointed assistant hitting coach on November 4, also joins the team.
Bush, who served as the Rangers’ director of pitching strategy during the 2024 season, brings a wealth of experience. His role involved both front office and on-field responsibilities, and he stepped in as the interim pitching coach for several games when pitching coach Mike Maddux was unavailable in 2024.
Bush, 45, previously served as the Boston Red Sox’s pitching coach from 2020 to 2023, following his earlier roles with the team as a pitching development analyst (2016-18) and minor league pitching coordinator (2019). He joined the Rangers in January 2024.
Bush enjoyed a nine-year MLB career, making 211 appearances—including 187 starts—with teams like Toronto (2004-05, 2013), Milwaukee (2006-10), and Texas (2011). He also worked with Maddux during their time together in Milwaukee (2006-08) and Texas (2011) when Bush was still an active pitcher.
