Catching Up on Old Times

Hazard, who retired from football in 2023 at the age of 32, shared a lively chat with James, whose Chelsea career has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons. While they never shared first-team minutes at Stamford Bridge, their mutual respect for each other’s talents was clear.

The conversation turned to Chelsea’s current state under manager Enzo Maresca, with James expressing optimism:

“Yeah bro, he’s good,” James said, agreeing with Hazard that the team’s situation is “better than last season, for sure.”

As James left, he added a playful farewell, asking Hazard to “tell Kylian [Mbappé] I said ‘Hi.’”

Reece James: Fighting Through Injuries

James’ injury woes have been a recurring theme in recent years. A hamstring issue will keep him sidelined until at least 2025, marking another frustrating chapter for the Chelsea captain. Since taking on the role in 2023, James has missed 56 games—a statistic that underlines the challenge he faces in returning to consistent form.

Chelsea fans, who have seen glimpses of James’ brilliance when fit, will be hoping he can recover fully and contribute to the team’s ambitions in the New Year.
