The Texas Rangers are continuing to strengthen their pitching depth.
As reported by Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News, the Rangers have signed right-hander Adrian Houser to a minor-league contract, which includes an invitation to spring training.
Houser becomes the latest veteran pitcher to join the Rangers’ minor league system. In November, Texas also added 31-year-old right-hander Caleb Boushley on a similar deal.
At 31, Houser brings eight years of Major League experience. He debuted with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2015 and spent six seasons with the team (2018-2023), making 97 starts and posting a 4.00 ERA.
In December 2023, Houser was traded to the New York Mets, where he made seven starts before being released in July. Afterward, he signed minor-league contracts with the Cubs and Orioles, ultimately becoming a free agent by the end of the 2024 season.
